The Dance Club at Cowboys Red River has 2 members leaving for Iraq. As a Dance Club and a Nightclub, we at Cowboys are starting a drive to send needed items to our Soldiers and also to other Soldiers not receiving mail and gifts from home. These soldiers are making it possible for us to have the freedom that we take for granted. We are teaming with the manager of Cowboys Arlington, Steve Jett. He is in the service and will be going back to Iraq. He has formed a group of Soldiers’ families and friends that will join with us to make this a wonderful operation.
There will be a box placed in the foyer at Red River. You can bring items for the soldiers and put them in the box. They will be boxed up by a committee from the Dance Club and sent to our Soldiers. The first group of boxes will go to Robert Walker’s daughter 1LT Adrian N. Walker in Iraq. She will give them to Soldiers who don’t get anything from home. We will add other names to our list as we get addresses. Postage for the boxes will be $9.15. We are taking money for postage and hoping to find a corporate sponsor to help with postage. We will also have a 50/50 raffle at each monthly party to cover postage. If you prefer, you can donate money for postage to Jennifer, Joe or Anita. Any amount is appreciated.
